Escape to Cenote Maya Park, a secret Mayan underworld of tranquillity, where you can dip into crisp water that was once used by the Mayans for both rituals and relaxation. Descend down vines that begin at the opening and lead 26 m (85 ft) below ground into the cenote, where you can swim in the company of black catfish. The body of water itself is about 40 m (130 ft) deep and 60 m (200 ft) in diameter. It can also be reached by taking a manmade staircase, which leads to a platform sitting in the middle of the water. The arrival at the site by a small jungle trail puts in the mood. The welcoming ceremony by the shaman is very friendly, then, heading to the dressing room before the start of the adventure. The mouth of the chasm with the abseiling may discourage some but pass your apprehension. On the one hand, the staff are serious and the equipment in very good condition. Let yourself be guided and discover this unique feeling of underground abseiling to arrive in a crystal clear expanse of fresh water. In the cenote, several zip lines and jump areas for thrills. Then the meal and the restaurant welcome really nice. A big thank you to Pablo , Samy (the driver) and the other guide whose name I forgot . Great day and very good memory.
Awesome experience. Clean water. Safety is very important for the staff.
Really awesome place. Very beautiful and natural. The water is super cold, it was a shock to me when I repelled in. I really enjoyed the cenote and all activities here.
