Hambantota, Sri Lanka

Hambantota is the main town in Hambantota District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka. Take a break from the city and head to Kalamatiya Bird Sanctuary and Kumana National Park. Step off the beaten path and head to Kahandamodara Beach and Ussangoda National Park. Spend the 4th (Thu) exploring nature at Bundala National Park.

One of the most scenic beach resorts in Sri Lanka, Hikkaduwa features a number of long white sand beaches with palm trees and gentle waves.
Get in touch with nature at Dolphin & Whale Watching and Victor Hasselblad Sea Turtle Research & Conservation Center. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Narigama Beach and Ahungalla Beach. Venture out of the city with trips to Unawatuna (Japanese Peace Pagoda & Made In Ceylon), Galle (Sinharaja Forest Reserve & Dutch Reformed Church) and Handunugoda Tea Estate (in Ahangama). The coastal resort town of Nilaveli draws visitors with its beaches, dive spots, and seaside hotels.
Kick off your visit on the 12th (Fri): kick back and relax at Arisimale Beach and then stroll through Nilaveli Beach.
