Trincomalee

A center of Tamil culture and language, Trincomalee suffered greatly during the 30-year civil war, but the troubles haven't dimmed the natural and cultural charms of the place.
Kick off your visit on the 13th (Wed): take in the natural beauty of Kanniya Hot Springs, then appreciate the history behind Velgam Vehera, and then see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour. On your second day here, pause for some serene contemplation at Saint Mary's Cathedral, then take in the spiritual surroundings of Sri Pathrakali Amman Temple, and then learn about all things military at Sri Lanka Navy Museum.

Sitting high up in the hills, the green and pleasant Nuwara Eliya offers both a rich history and proximity to pristine natural areas.
Take a break from the city and head to Waterfall Tours and Nuwara Eliya Golf Course. Step off the beaten path and head to Nitwo tours ( MAY 7 ) and Swarnagiri Maha Viharaya. Step out of Nuwara Eliya to go to Ella and see Spas, which is approximately 1h 5 min away.
