When in Agra, pay a visit to Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, an intricately decorated mausoleum, often nicknamed “Baby Taj” in comparison to its grandiose neighbor. The tomb was built in 1628 and is believed to have been the inspiration for the iconic Taj Mahal. Less crowded than its counterpart, the mausoleum boasts more delicate decorations, made with precious topaz, lapis lazuli, and onyx, as well as lace-like, intricate carvings in its marble walls. • Another mausoleum (like the Taj Mahal) but on a smaller scale, you get to see things more up close and personal. And there are no crowds. It is a complex of buildings, also including gates, wells...

  • Very beautiful indeed. Equally if not more beautiful than Taj !!! Deserves more emphasis, upkeep and renovation.

  • A good place indeed related to the historical facts. But the tourism department really need to enhance the ticket buying system in this place. The visit was finished in half an hour but had to wait for the ticket for around 45 mins. The whole mood of the visit was ruined and to add the staff present there, not at all cooperative.
  • Beautiful but one should beware of people roaming around there , they ask for money for telling directions and for keeping your shoes outside Nd all. There should be a system to arrange proper visits as there was no information put on any plank to mark the name or history of place.
