Create an itinerary including Bahiravokanda Vihara Buddha Statue
You can't miss Bahiravokanda Vihara Buddha Statue, a huge concrete Buddha statue visible from most spots in Kandy. If you prefer to get close, climb the set of stairs up the hill to the statue's perch, where you can enjoy pleasant views of the city. Try to spot the lake, football stadium, and tea factory from your outlook. Some devotees may leave flowers or light oil lamps to worship at this attraction. Keep in mind you must remove your shoes to approach the statue, so take socks to prevent burning your feet on the concrete. • Lovely temple and had recently been painted and cleaned. Very helpful staff and a highly recommended visit to one of Kandy’s iconic attractions.

  • Beautiful temple with a 360 Aerial view of Kandy. The floor is very hot during afternoon, so better be there during sunset or mornings. Good place to peacefully spend your time.
  • Such a an incredible place to see the scenic view of Kandy. You can go there with Tuk Tuk. Good to go in the evening. Just like other places in Sri Lanka, you can't wear short, if you do, you can cover with a rope they give you. And you do need to pay a little for entering there. Behind the Buddha, there's stair to go up there to see the view of Kandy city from above.
