Captive elephants in Sri Lanka are common--they're often not only used as a sign of wealth and as tourist attractions, but also as labor for the logging industry. This foundation raises awareness about elephant mistreatment and promotes the phasing out of elephant rides and the ban of Howdah elephant chairs. A great experience to see elephants roaming without chains. Everything about this place is great. Instead of visiting elephant orphanage one should visit this place. You can ride the elephant, feed them and take them to bath.
