Colombo — 14 nights
The commercial capital of the country, Colombo has added modern touches to its colonial-era core, creating an exciting and eclectic coastal city.Popular historic sites such as Gangaramaya (Vihara) Buddhist Temple and Shri Ponnambalawaneswaram Kovil are in your itinerary. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct and Barefoot. Get out of town with these interesting Colombo side-trips: Moragalla (Sriyan Jewellers & Dara Gems & Jewellery), Turtle Hatchery Hikkaduwa (in Hikkaduwa) and Negombo (Angurukaramulla Temple, Negombo Beach, &more). There's much more to do: see the interesting displays at Colombo National Museum, explore the world behind art at The Galleries of Sapumal Foundation, look for gifts at Stone 'N' String, and enjoy the sand and surf at Mount Lavinia Beach.
