Take in the majesty of Yosemite from Glacier Point, a viewing area 980 m (3,214 ft) above the bottom of the valley. From here you can admire and photograph Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, Vernal Fall, Nevada Fall, and Clouds Rest. Depending on the time of year, the spot is accessible by car, bus, foot, or skis. From the parking lot, you must walk along a short, paved trail to get to the viewpoint. If you are feeling adventurous, set off on a hike from here. Bring along some munchies or purchase some snacks from the visitor center for a meal with a view. GP is a long drive to get there but worth it.

I did not know what this was. I saw the sign and decided to take the 16 mile detour. I was so glad I did. Amazing views of Yosemite Valley. From Nevada Falls to Half Dome to Yosemite Falls. An easy walk on paved paths takes you to an overlook of the valley like no other. High above it all watch as the view changes with the season and the weather. We were there in May and a jacket and Cap'n were highly recommended.
